SUSTALDE Foundation

Is a non-profit making organisation created with the aim of promoting sustainable agrifood sector development by the implementation on new technologies and methodologies. SUSTALDE develops its activities at international level, promoting initiatives to improve the quality of life and competitiveness of rural areas.

The activities that carry out SUSTALDE include the promotion and participation in cooperation and technological development projects, and dissemination and public awareness rising actions. These activities are directed to enterprises, public institutions and rural stakeholders that take part in the development of rural areas.

ACTIVITIES

Technological development Projects

SUSTALDE Foundation brings know-how in formulation and implementation of rural development projects around the world. From the design and development of new technologies and methodologies, SUSTALDE Foundation handles the complete scope of development projects related to agriculture, food value chain, environment as well as rural development. SUSTALDE embraces new technology approach to support rural livelihoods and improve the quality of life through promotion of climate smart tools and practices. The research areas comprise smart farming, digital agriculture, Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), irrigation efficiency, expert systems, sustainable food processing, food loss and waste in value chain, among others

Cooperation Projects

SUSTALDE supports the transformation of stakeholders towards an inclusive Green economy: The Foundation provides expertise alongside governments, universities, civil society, private sector organisations and local smallholders to pave the way for a sustainable growth and unlocks opportunities for rural development. In cooperation with local partners and based on a value chain approach, SUSTALDE equip stakeholders with the necessary knowledge and tools to promote and adopt sustainable practices enabling to seize Green economy opportunities. Specifically SUSTALDE brings expertise in Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP) practices, climate smart techniques and technologies, Environmental Management System (EMS) implementation, certification scheme, etc.
